Senator Hollie Hughes has grilled the Department of Climate Change, Energy, Environment and Water over the Albanese government’s $500 energy relief handout that will only see 5.5 million households – on welfare payments – receive a one-off cash payment to easy energy bills, which are ironically still slated to rise by at least 10%. The cash handout will do little to stop ongoing household power pain.
